Other ideas
Popular amongst the more ‘senior’ drivers was the request for an over
50’s competition. This is something which will be included in the new
season with the over 50’s being included in the main championship table
but also a separate over 50s table. There will also be a slot.it challenge
medal for the top over 50s driver at each event. The over 50’s rule will
apply to any driver who is already or who turns 50 during the championship
year.
There were suggestions to change to slot.it motors only but we feel that the less expensive Scaleauto motors give additional choice.Several suggestions were received regarding limiting Sunday practice to Sunday drivers only, this is something we have tried in previous years and found that on several occasions there were spare lanes available during practice. We feel that the current procedure with Sunday drivers taking priority allowing free practice for any other driver if there are spare lanes.Some events have finished quite late due to the large entries the series attracts.
There were suggestions to limit the number of racers, we feel that this would not be suitable as it would limit the possible number of new racers to the event, there would also be a problem if a number of racers ‘booked in’ to a meeting could not attend. We feel that the best solution is to monitor the entries but to make sure that the events run to a timetable and that there is less down time between heats / finals & presentation.
